Maternity Basic Bardot Top
- Off-the-shoulder bardot neckline sits flat across the collarbone, showing off the shoulders without any fuss.
- Ruched side seams run the full length of the body, accommodating a growing bump while keeping the silhouette neat rather than boxy.
- Long sleeves add coverage and make this a practical choice across the seasons - not just a summer maternity piece.
- The elastane content gives the fabric just enough stretch to move with you, holding its shape through a full day of wear.
- A fitted length sits at the hip, making it easy to tuck into or layer over maternity trousers without bunching.
The bardot cut does something clever here - it draws the eye upward to the shoulders and décolletage, letting the ruched sides do the quiet work of accommodating the bump. The fit is close but never restrictive, and the long sleeves mean it works just as well on a cool evening as it does during the day. Style it the way the model does: with wide-leg dark-wash jeans and flat ballet pumps for a relaxed, put-together look that works for a casual lunch, a family gathering, or a low-key day out. If you want to smarten it up slightly, swap the jeans for tailored maternity trousers and add simple gold jewellery at the ears. It's the kind of top that earns its place in a maternity wardrobe precisely because it doesn't look like it's trying too hard.
