Butter Leather Chunky Penny Casual Loafers
- Classic penny loafer silhouette with a defined saddle strap across the vamp - the detail that gives the shoe its structured, intentional look
- Chunky flatform sole adds noticeable height without a heel, keeping the foot flat and the stride comfortable throughout the day
- Leather upper that sits close to the foot and holds its shape wear after wear, developing character over time
- Rounded toe box provides a relaxed fit without sacrificing the sharp, polished outline of the loafer shape
- Flat heel height between 0 and 2cm - all-day wearability with no compromise on style
The chunky sole is doing a lot of work here - it takes the penny loafer, a shape rooted in preppy tradition, and grounds it in something more current. The shoe sits low and wide, which means it reads confidently rather than daintily, and pairs particularly well with wide-leg or straight-cut denim, as styled here with a deep turn-up that lets the loafer take centre stage. The leather upper hugs the foot neatly without feeling stiff, and the saddle strap detail breaks up the toe with just enough visual interest. Try them with a midi skirt and knitted tights for an autumn afternoon in the city, or keep it casual with cropped trousers and a relaxed blazer for a day of errands that still looks considered. A genuinely hardworking flat that earns its place in a regular rotation.
